Dulaney Ranks High in National Academic Contest
Timonium's high school ranked second in Baltimore County in the annual High School Challenge project.
has been named one of the country's top high schools based on academic rigor, according to an annual project compiled by The Washington Post.
Dulaney placed 282nd out of 1,900 high schools nationwide, 16th out of 107 high schools in the state and second in Baltimore County.

Schools are graded by the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or Cambridge tests taken by all students in 2010, divided by the number of graduating seniors, according to a release.
Towson High School, ranked 264, was the only school in Baltimore County to edge Dulaney.

“By examining the Advanced Placement tests available and undertaken by students, the High School Challenge reflects the increasing rigor and excellence of our high schools and our students,” said Superintendent Joe A. Hairston in a release. “This recognition reinforces the fact that our students are among the best prepared in the nation for the demands of a rapidly changing workplace and world.”
More Baltimore County schools participated in the national High School Challenge since the project began in 1998.
