University of Maryland Health and Wellness Conference

BEST SELLING AUTHOR ANDREW WEIL, M.D.,  TO SHARE STRATEGIES ON HAPPINESS AND HEALTH AT 

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND WELLNESS CONFERENCE

Best-selling wellness author Andrew Weil, M.D., will discuss his new book Spontaneous Happiness as the keynote address at the University of Maryland Center for Integrative Medicine Health and Wellness conference, Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Baltimore Hilton. Dr. Weil’s book suggests we reconsider our definitions of happiness and offers ways to attain optimum emotional health.

In addition to Dr. Weil’s talk, the conference features more than 25 sessions on such wellness topics as holistic pain relief, stress management, and “food as medicine”.

The goal of the conference is to provide attendees both medical professionals and the general public, with an understanding of integrative medicine and how different evidence-based integrative therapies, many practiced in different cultures, promote health and well-being and can be incorporated into conventional health care.

Attendees will also be able to participate in meditation and movement-based therapies workshops such as yoga and Qi Gong. 

The fee to attend the conference is $150 for the general public. CEUs are available for nurses, pharmacists, dentists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and chiropractors and the fee is $250. CEUs for other professionals are pending approval.
