Public Input Sought on Mays Chapel School Boundaries

A committee will be developing a map determining who goes to the new elementary school.

The process of determining who will attend the new elementary school currently under construction in Mays Chapel will begin later this month.

A committee consisting of school officials, parents and community members will hold a series of four public meetings to gather public input on which children will attend the new school based on where they live.

The committee will then present different scenarios at a fifth meeting in December, and then make a recommendation for boundaries to the Board of Education in January, according to a news release.

The four meetings for public input on the boundaries will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on Oct. 16, Oct. 30, Nov. 13 and Nov. 20 at Cockeysville Middle School, 10401 Greenside Drive.

The committee will present various boundary options developed from the earlier meetings to the public on Dec. 11 at Dulaney High School.
