Regional Forum on School Standards Scheduled in Towson

The new standards are being implemented this academic year.

The new state standards being used to judge student and school progress this academic year will be discussed during a regional forum next week.

The forum discussing the Common Core of State Standards is scheduled for 7 p.m., Sept. 19 at Ridge Ruxton School, 6916 N. Charles St., in Towson. According to a news release. 

This is the third of four regional forums sponsored by the Maryland Department of Education to discuss the new goals the state wants children kindergarten through 12th grade to achieve.

Baltimore County Superintendent S. Dallas Dance, Maryland Superintendent of Schools Lillian Lowery and Maryland PTA President Ray Leone are also scheduled to speak at the forum, according to a news release.
