Ridgely Middle Schooler Featured In Online Magazine
Celie Scott's writing is published in the March edition of 'MY-Say' magazine.
An area student was featured this month in an online publication written by middle-school students for their peers.
MY-Say magazine, www.my-say.org, is a nonprofit publication edited by children's author Jennifer Keats Curtis, and the March edition of the online publication featured a Ridgely Middle School student who won the magazine's monthly contest.
Celie Scott, a sixth-grader at Ridgely Middle School, won four tickets to the National Aquarium in Baltimore for winning the monthly "I Say." This month the challenge was to make the magazine editor laugh in 200 words or less.

The magazine is a partnership between the State of Maryland International Reading Association Council (SoMIRAC), Maryland Library Association (MLA), educators, and children’s author Jennifer Keats Curtis; currently the publication is sponsored by BGE.

In an email to Patch, Curtis wrote that Ridgely Middle Principal Susan Evans and teacher Michaela Koch "serve as educational advisors for the publication and have been instrumental in ensuring that Maryland middle schoolers get their say."
