2 Dulaney Athletes to Sign Letters of Intent

Two Dulaney High School students will sign national letters of intent on Wednesday, signifying that they intend to play their respective sports in college next school year. 

Matt Eibl will sign a letter of intent making his plans to play lacrosse at the Virginia Military Institute official, and Lauren Cahalan will sign a letter that she will compete in gymnastics at Towson University. 

Dulaney High School's Athletic Department provided the following bios on the student-athletes: 

Lauren Cahalan - has committed to Towson University on a gymnastics scholarship. Lauren trains as a Level 10 gymnast at Rebounders Gymnastics in Timonium, Maryland.  She is coached by Karen Kalivoda, Sheri Huppenthal, and Dave Coffman. She has been doing gymnastics for 11 years and currently trains 20 hours a week. This past season she qualified to the Level 10 Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a Level 9 she earned the title of Eastern National Beam Champion, in addition to placing 2nd on Floor, and 7th in the All-Around. In the same season Lauren was the Region 7 Beam Champion, and All-Around Runner-Up, as well as the Maryland State Floor, Bars, and All-Around Champion. Lauren’s other gymnastics accomplishments include being honored with the Rebounders’ Jean Weber Award for Character, and the Lisa Sue Horrigan Teammate of the Year Award. While at Towson University, Lauren plans on majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business. She looks forward to her endeavors as she competes as a Towson Tiger!

Matthew Eibl - has committed to the Virginia Military Institute for the Fall of 2014 on a lacrosse scholarship. Matthew plays lacrosse for Dulaney High School in Timonium, Maryland. He is coached by Kyle Fiat, Reed Sothoron, and Matthew Mehrer. He played club lacrosse for Laxworld in Towson, Maryland and Greene Turtle in Owings Mills, Maryland. Matthew transferred to Dulaney High School from Calvert Hall in his junior year, where he played football and lacrosse and was in the National Honor Society.  Matt will also receive his Eagle Scout award this winter. Matthew plans to commission in the military after his senior year at VMI!
