Opening Day in Baltimore will be nationally televised.
The Baltimore Orioles will take on the Boston Red Sox at 3 p.m., March 31 in both teams’ first regular season game, and the matchup will be broadcast on ESPN2, according to a news release.
The game is expected to attract a lot of attention because the Red Sox are the defending World Series champion and an AL East rival of the Orioles.
Although the Orioles failed to make the playoffs last year, the team posted its second consecutive winning season, and won their season series against Boston 11-8.
The network, including ESPN and ESPN2, will carry five games that day.
