Maryland State Fair opens with a Welsh Pony Show at 9 a.m. in the Horse Show Ring. There also are state Department of Natural Resources exhibits and the Maryland State Fair Museum. Commerical exhibits and kitchen craft cooking will be held in the Exhibition Hall, and Maryland beekeepers will demonstrate how to "extract honey." in the Farm and Garden Building. Rides and games will be available on the Midway, and the Maryland Foods Pavilion will offer a variety of items. Admission is $8 for adults; $6 for seniors; $3 for children ages 6 to 11, and children 5 and under are admitted free.
