GET OUT: Weekend Events to Check Out

Looking forward to the weekend? We'll give you a hand with filling in your planner.

It’s Thursday, so you’re officially almost out of time to secure the hot date, the girls’ night out, the bachelor party or the babysitter.

Maybe Patch’s finds for the weekend will spur you into action.

Read below to see what’s going on, and for heaven’s sake, make some plans!

1.  

Where/When: 9603 Deereco Road, Timonium, MD. Shows run 8 p.m., July 7, and 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m, July 8-9.

Why Go: Larry Lancaster is headlining. He was voted Baltimore’s Funniest Comedian 2010. Opening for him are Ryan Connor and Kirk McKewen. Also, if you miss Magooby’s this weekend, check it out on Tuesday, July 12, at 8 p.m. for a special event performance by the one and only Carlos Mencia.

Pricing: Tickets are $7 on Thursdays, $14 Friday and Saturday, and $25 for Mencia’s special event. Magooby's also enforces a two-item minimum purchase.

Where/When: 2306 York Road, Timonium, MD. Music is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., July 7, and 9 p.m.-1 a.m., July 8 -9.

Why Go: The music is mostly acoustic and mostly outdoors. Hightopps boasts a large outdoor deck for warm, breezy summer nights. Come catch Danny McDonnell, Cool Change and Lyle Montanye.

Pricing: Free, but drinks and food are on you.

3. Baltimore County 4-H Fair 

Where/When: Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium, MD. Fair runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m, July 7-9, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, July 10.

Why Go: Cake auctions, horses and ponies, vegetables, photography, Basket Bingo, flowers, alpacas and goats. What’s not to love?

Pricing: Free admission.

4. Feet on the Street 

Where/When: Allegheny Avenue, Towson, MD. Festivities are 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m, July 8.

Why Go: It’s the weekly block party that Towson looks forward to each Friday. Allegheny Avenue is closed off for street dancing, walking, chatting and eating, with live music, children’s activities, food, beer and wine. But please leave the dog at home. Even – and especially – if you’re Paris Hilton.

Pricing: Free admission.

5. Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam

 Where/When: M&T Bank Stadium, 1101 Russell St., Baltimore , MD. Show is 7:30 p.m., July 9.

Why Go: Here are four reasons: Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction, Air Force Afterburner and Iron Man!
