Lutherville Golfer Leading Day 1 of PGA Qualifier

Defending MAPGA Professional champion David Hutsell is on track to continue his winning ways.

Lutherville resident and pro golfer didn't need to turn on the jets today, having already qualified for the 2013 PGA Professional National Championship.

But that didn't stop the  PGA director of instruction from ending Day 1 of the 87th annual Mid Atlantic Section PGA Professional Championship as the leader of the pack.

currently stands at 8-under par, 3 ahead of golfer Brendon Post, of Lincoln University, PA.

“I really focused on practicing my short game before coming to Kingsmill,” Hutsell said in a release.

Hutsell had a sensational bogey-free round, with an exceptionally strong back 9 making birdies in holes 11 and 13, with an added four in a row from No. 15 to 18.
