Festival Of Trees Continues To Break Records

The annual fundraiser for the Kennedy Krieger Institute exceeded last year's attendance and donations.

The proved once again it really is the season of giving. 

The event broke records for both attedance and donations collected for the institute. 

More than 50,000 attended the event at the over Thanksgiving weekend—an increase of 5,000 from 2010. And for the second year in a row, the festival collected more than $1 million in donations.  This year's total exceeded 2010, although the exact figure was unavailable.

“We are overjoyed by the support of the entire community which made this year’s Festival of Trees a great success," said Lainy LeBow-Sachs, executive vice president of external relations at Kennedy Krieger Institute. "We had a record-breaking year and all of the money raised will go to research, treatment and special education programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute.”
