But no—I can’t share them in this family-friendly forum.

Instead, I can tell you about the the first “Magooby’s Goes To The Dogs” fundraiser comedy show, with proceedings directly benefiting two local animal shelters.

“The idea for the fundraiser, came before the ruling. The ruling just sort of added an extra element to it,” Unger said. “This will an opportunity to vent about that. I’ll make fun of the people behind that and what their fears are. You know, Dan Rodricks, who I almost always agree with, wrote a pretty scathing column backing up the ruling and his own fear of pit bulls so I plan to go after him as well.”

The fundraiser is scheduled for Wednesday June 13. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Magooby’s is waiving its standard two-item minimum purchase requirement in the hopes that people will donate more to the cause than the $12 entrance fee.

“It just seemed like a good idea. We have a club. We’ve run fundraisers for other things as well. We did the , we’ve done things for Autism," Unger said. 'This is just an opportunity for a bunch of dog lovers to laugh and support a good cause.”

All entrance fees will benefit Luna’s House and Jasmine’s House animal shelters. Acclaimed artist Robert McClintock, as well as Unger himself will be selling off their wares with a portion of the proceeds going to the shelters, as well.

Baltimore favorites Mike Storck, , Jay Szech and Sonny Fuller are scheduled to perform. Unger will close out the night with his own set.

“I told the comedians don’t go up on stage and feel like you have to do 12 minutes on your pet. I may, because I can be pretty improvisational. But it’ll be a combination of dog-specific material and our act,” Unger said.

Attendees are also encouraged to send in their funniest pet stories, for a chance to win prizes and to have their tale read on stage.

This is an adults-only event—18 to enter, 21 to drink.
