VIDEO: St. Paul's School for Girls Raises Over $15k for Breast Cancer Research

Over 200 inches of hair were donated to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths initiative.

Between raising thousands of dollars for research and donating hundreds of inches in hair for wigs, Team Gator did its part in combating breast cancer. 

The earned a ninth-place finish, as a team, in the after raising $15,655 among 239 participants on its team. Additionally, a minimum of 248 inches of hair was donated to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths charity, which benefits women undergoing Chemotherapy. 

"It's pretty amazing," said school communications associate Lauren Davis.

Davis donated eight inches of hair at the Public Image Salon in Timonium. This is the fourth year that SPSG has partnered with Public Image for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths initiatve. 

"We're very proud of our girls. We know it is hard to give up their hair ... but it is for a great cause," Davis said.

The St. Paul's campus in its entirety, 343 members, raised $24,450 for breast cancer research—good enough for a second-place team finish, according to an announcement on the St. Paul's School for Girls Facebook group
