Ireland Is Tearing Down Thousands of Empty, Brand New "Ghost Homes"

It seems that Ireland, as we all know, also got caught up in the housing boom several years ago, and when it developed that there was insufficient demand for these new houses, they simply sat idle for several years.

Now, to help try and put some balance into their housing market, and recognizing that many of these empty homes were not constructed according to normal building standards and have many construction deficiencies, the Irish government has decided to spend taxpayer funds to literally demolish these excess and quality-deficient homes.

Practically speaking, this is probably a reasonable decision, but what a WASTE!
