This company uses a "lock box" to receive their payments. Conveniently, they either do not pick up their mail in a timely fashion, or they use a third-party service who does not process the payments in a timely fashion. Either way, several times I've mailed my bill in plenty of time to be received before the late fee kicks in, but have been charged the late fee anyway. Sometimes I've put the payment in the mail a week ahead of time, only to be charged a late fee.
I have also faxed them a credit card payment a couple times, and once they claim they never received it (it was faxed from my bank and we had confirmation, but they said that didn't matter and charged me a late fee and a $50 fee for mailing me a letter saying I was behind; a "pre-lien letter", or something like that).
This month, they claim they did not receive my payment at all (of course, another late fee). However, due to past problems with them, I ALWAYS mail my payment directly from the post office (and record the date mailed), so I'm pretty sure the problem is at their end.
They seem to be using the old scam from the 80's to rack up late fees and other fees.

This is way awesome. I like how your company offers packing materials, insurance, and a moving truck. I've been looking for a self storage company in Seattle, and this gave me some great insight! I also found http://www.magnumselfstorage.com/ to be very helpful as well. If you have any more insights on different places I could look, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for sharing!
