Towson Man Eyes Republican County Executive Nomination

Residency requirements could thwart Timothy Tenne's efforts to get his name on the 2014 ballot

Timothy Tenne has lived in Baltimore County nearly all his life except for the time he spent in the Air Force. The retired Lt. Colonel and commercial airline pilot wants to be Baltimore County Executive but he may need a little help to meet the residency requirements. "There is going to have to be some kind of an opinion from the Attorney General or we're going to need a Charter change," Tenne said speaking of his eligibility. Tenne filed earlier this year and is listed on the Maryland State Board of Elections website as a provisional candidate. "He is provisional until he satisfies his residency requirement of 5 years living in Baltimore County," wrote Katie Brown, director of elections for the Baltimore County Board of Elections. The …

Baltimore County Executive's Wife Shares Her Favorite Restaurant Week Hot Spots

Where are you dining out for Restaurant Week?

Kevin Kamenetz has formally presented what is arguably his most important budget since being sworn in as Baltimore County Executive. Kamenetz told a room full of reporters and county business leaders Thursday that he is allocating a whopping $150 out of his (personal) budget be set aside for dining out during Baltimore County Restaurant Week Winter 2013. "I live to eat where Kevin eats to live.” Baltimore County Restaurant Week this year features 44 spots around the county offering between one- and three-course meals between $…

Kamenetz Opens 25th Annual Senior/Baby Boomer Expo

The County Executive explains why seniors and caregivers should come to Timonium Wednesday and Thursday.

The Baltimore County Baby Boomer/Senior Expo is underway and Baltimore County's aging population is out in full force.  By noon, parking was at a premium at the Maryland State Fairgrounds where thousands perused the latest resources for senior citizens and caregivers at the 25th annual event. “It’s really really grown into one of the largest events of its kind, not only addressing outreach to seniors but also to caregivers and those entering close to retirement age,” County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said.  Kamenetz led the opening ceremonies at little before 1 p.m. Wednesday. The expo continues on to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday. “We’re trying to get outreach to the senior community, let them know what services …
