A man kicked in a Parkton resident's back door Sunday, but her presence startled him into running out the front door.
A burglar rang a doorbell, and when no one answered, he knocked, then kicked in the back door at a Parkton home. It was between 8:43 a.m. and 9:02 a.m. Sunday in the 19800 block of York Road, when a resident heard the noises from her front door, according to a report by Baltimore County police. She saw a man outside the front door, but then he kicked in the glass of the rear patio door and came in, the report states. The burglary was foiled, however, because "The suspect panicked when he came across the victim and fled outside through the front door," it states.

The following information regarding police activity in Lutherville-Timonium, Cockeysville, Hunt Valley and North County was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department.
Notice anything a little different in this week's crime log? You should. We've mashed both Lutherville-Timonium and Hunt Valley-Cockeysville Patch's police blotters together. Why? Because there were a whopping three major crimes reported between Lutherville and the Pennsylvania state line last week. That's the good news. The better news? Based on the hyped-up snowstorm coming our way, we should see a second week of minimal crime stats. I say this based on experience with three years' worth of covering crime logs. Bad weather = fewer bad people on the streets. That said, there were three burglaries last week. Nothing was stolen in any of the cases; however, a Lutherville woman was arrested for causing a ruckus at a local hotel. Lutherville-…

That gun owning homeowner did a pretty good job of stopping the drunk 16 yr old kid when he entered the wrong house through the window two doors down from his own house just a couple of days ago. Very unfortunate situation though. This type of misfortune drives that misleading 300% homicide rate, but there are a lot of good kills in that percentage too.   more ›
