BGE Investigating Cause of Cockeysville Power Outage
The utility restored power to most of its affected customers in a little over an hour.
BGE has restored power to most of its customers affected by the bizarre midday blackout in Cockeysville, although the cause of the outage is under investigation. Cockeysville businesses between Galloway Avenue and just beyond Cranbrook Road reported the outages a little before 1:30 p.m. BGE spokeswoman Rachael Lighty said that crews arrived on the scene in Cockeysville at about 2:45 p.m. and were attempting to isolate the problem. Power was restored to the majority of affected businesses by 3 p.m. The remaining businesses in the dark could experience outages several hours if repairs are needed.
