A Milford Mill man known for political protests involving putting toilets in front of a county government building in Towson has filed as a candidate for Lt. Governor in 2014. Duane "Shorty" Davis has filed as the running mate with Brian Vaeth, a Perry Hall man. Davis was charged in February 2011 with planting a fake destructive device in the form of a toilet outside the Historic Courthouse in Towson and making false statements about a fake destructive device. He was acquitted of those charges seven months later. Davis, a caterer, said in a February 2013 article that the incident in 2011 was a protest of alleged corruption in Gov. Baltimore man Duane Davis commemorated the two-year anniversary of making a statement outside of the district courthouse by trying to file new evidence in Circuit Court.
Duane G. Davis Sr. was arrested in 2011 when he brought his toilet to a Baltimore County courthouse. The "statement," as he described it, triggered a bomb scare. On the two-year anniversary of his infamous political statement, Davis returned to Towson to file new evidence in a civil suit against his son and his former landlord. And, he said, "Just to piss them [officials] off." "They took my property while I was locked up in jail,” Davis told a group of like-minded activists who attended the demonstrated in Patriot Plaza, outside of the Baltimore County Circuit Court. A Baltimore activist is planning a reenactment Wednesday of a political statement involving a toilet, on the two-year anniversary of the event that caused a bomb scare. The announcement was made via a YouTube video uploaded by the user "occupythelaw." Duane Davis was charged with planting a fake destructive device and making a false statement about a destructive device after he placed a toilet in front of the Old Courthouse, home to Baltimore County government, on Feb. 6, 2011.
