Fire Museum of Maryland Makes Social Media Push

The Lutherville-based museum is bolstering its Twitter and Facebook accounts, while launching Tumblr and Pinterest pages.

The Fire Museum of Maryland, a temple of Baltimore fire fighting history, is embracing today's latest social media platforms.  The museum this week launched Tumblr and Pinterest pages, while also adding content and activity to its existing Facebook and Twitter hubs. PHOTO OF THE DAY: Santa and His Fire Truck Sleigh

The Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company gets in the holiday spirit this Saturday with annual Kindertime Toy Drive.

On top of spreading joy to the residents of Lutherville-Timonium and Towson with their Santa Claus and fire sirens (see photo), the Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company will be giving back to children this holiday season.  On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Fire Museum of Maryland is scheduled to host an open house featuring antique and new firefighting equipment. The event is a chance for the public to meet first responders as well as provide an opportunity to give gifts to children in need.  The fire company will be partnering with both the Fire Museum and WMAR for the annual Kindertime Toy Drive.  "Police and firefighters will be bringing in collected toys in their service vehicles.
