UPDATED: Overturned Dump Truck Closes Interstate Exit

The exit ramp leading from Interstate 83 southbound to Interstate 695 westbound remains closed as of 1 p.m. due to an overturned dump truck, state traffic cameras show. The accident was first reported a little after 11 a.m. Monday morning, according to the official MD511Northern Twitter account. UPDATE (1:05 p.m.)—A State Highway Administration spokeswoman confirmed that the single-vehicle accident, indicating that clean up could take any where from one to two hours. Traffic is being redirected to either Inner Loop, or to southbound York Road. The dump truck was carrying tons of asphalt. No word yet on the condition of the driver.
