Parsons Awarded Timonium, Cockeysville Officer of the Month

Jeffrey Parsons went above the call of duty to help an elderly woman in need.

Officer Jeffrey Parsons of the Baltimore County Police Department Cockeysville precinct responded to a call regarding an elderly vulnerable adult in December—and he hasn’t stopped helping the woman since. It's things like sticking with an older woman in need that earned Parsons the title of Officer of the Month for January for going above and beyond the call of duty. Precinct 7 commander Capt. Dennis Delp described Parsons’s everyday demeanor as “always professional” and “always positive.” By the numbers, it’s easy to justify Parsons’s status. Police: Thieves Target Area Autos

There were nine reported thefts from automobiles between Sunday and Monday.

Police are increasing patrols hoping to stop a spate of thefts after several cars were broken into during a recent 48 hour period, according to Precinct 7 Lt. Robert McGraw.  There were nine incidents reported in the Precint 7 coverage area between Sunday Jan. 20 and Monday Jan. 21. Precinct 7 stretches from Lutherville north to the state line. Petty thefts from cars have however been an issue since the start of the new year (see related content below). "We've been getting hit by thefts from autos ... across the precinct," McGraw said. "We're not sure if it's one or multiple groups at this point." He added that police are following up on a number of leads at this time. Lutherville Homes Struck by Daytime Burglaries

Two homes in Lutherville were burglarized on Thursday, according to incident reports.  Now police are asking for the public to be on the lookout for an early to mid-2000s model black Volkswagen Beetle with some type of ball on the antennae. “Yesterday we had two daytime burglaries on the south end of Precinct 7,” wrote Precinct 7 Lt. Robert McGraw. “They occurred on Tallyho Road and Kellogg Road. A neighbor saw a white or light skinned black male with a chin strap beard go in and out of the house at approximately 10:45 a.m." “He was seen driving a 2001-2007 VW beetle, black in color with some type of ball on the antennae,” McGraw continued in his email to area residents. “Jewelry was the main thing taken. Lutherville-Timonium Crime: Racial Remarks Painted on Wall

  There was only one major crime reported in the Lutherville-Timonium area last week. The following incident report was pulled from the Baltimore County Police Department, Precinct 7 in Cockeysville: Thornton Road, 1600 block, between 7 p.m. Jan. 15 and 7 a.m. Jan. 16. Someone spray painted two racial remarks on the concrete walls along Thornton Road, at the Interstate 695 overpass. Lutherville-Timonium Crime: Two Residential Burglaries, One Attempted, Were Reported

Wood Glenn Court, 600 block, at 10:46 a.m. Nov. 7. A 52-inch Samsung LCD television was reported stolen. Police responded to the home’s alarm, set off by the burglar. The intruder managed to break into the home by removing the rear basement window, police said. Chapel Ridge Road, 700 block, between 9 and 11:15 a.m. Nov. 7. Two small windows were smashed in an attempt to break into a home last Monday. The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a baseball cap and driving a dark-colored pickup truck. Pot Spring Road, 2100 block, between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 7. A 32-inch Vision television, Canon camera, Sony video recorder, diamond earrings and $100 in cash were reported stolen. CRIME LOG: Police Arrest Woman for Refusing to Leave Unpaid Hotel Room

Here's a weekly roundup of incident reports compiled from the Baltimore County Police Department, Precinct 7 in Cockeysville.

-300 block of Gateswood Road, between May 19 and May 20 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. A man's bicycle was stolen from an open garage.  -100 block of West Timonium Road, May 15 at 9:24 p.m. Police arrested a woman after she entered an unlocked hotel room without paying.
