St. Paul's To Host Official NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Local Contest

Register early for a chance to win NFL prizes.

Start practicing! St. Paul's School for Girls will host an official NFL Punt, Pass & Kick local competition at the school in September. The contest is free for all participants, ages 6 to 15, both boys and girls. Registration for the contests opened Thursday. Register here. The Punt, Pass & Kick competition, established in 1961, is one of the oldest NFL youth football programs, which now dovetails with the league's Play 60 initiative.  On Sept. 9, boys and girls will compete against their peers in five different age groups (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) to see who can punt, pass and kick the ball the furthest down St. Paul's turf field. St. Paul's Becomes First School to House On-Campus Squash Courts

Two former professionals show returning Crusaders team members how to play.

The St. Paul’s School today became the first secondary school in the state to house on-campus squash courts, according to school spokesman Jamie Smith. The courts, which today featured clinics by former No. 1 international squash champions Peter Nicol and John White, were made possible by donations from the Seymour H. Knox Foundation and support from anonymous donors, according to a release. “You can’t write words to describe how excited I am,” said head coach Lanny Springs. Springs was a “driving force” behind pushing for an on-campus facility. Crusaders Cross Country Places First in Meet

Football rebounds from season-opening loss, as soccer handles rival Friends School.

St. Paul’s cross country swept Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference rivals Beth T'Filoh, Friends, Glenelg Country School and St. John’s in Tuesday's season-opening meet. Sophomore Jack Hamed, junior Timmy Peters and freshman Ned Moreland took the top three spots, with their teammates capturing the next four. "Our 35-man team is very young, with over half never having run a 5K before," said coach Keith Culbertson, whose Crusaders were victorious over a group composed of more than 100 runners. "We proved to be the fastest team on the course. We took the top seven spots," Culbertson said. "We placed all seven runners before any of the other teams' first runners."
