Hydrant Repair Closes Portion of West Ridgely Road

The roadway leading up to York Road has been known to be troublesome for the surrounding businesses in cold weather months.

Baltimore City Department of Public Works crews are currently (as of 3:15 p.m., Thursday) working to repair a hydrant that has forced a portion of West Ridgely Road to be shut down. DPW spokesman Kurt Kocher said they have not yet confirmed what precipitated the need for a repair. "It's possible that it could be a valve that was in need of repair. ... But they can usually fix that fairly quickly," Kocher said. Crews have cut off access to the Yorkridge Shopping Center from West Ridgely Road, leaving a right turn from York Road southbound or cutting through the Historic Lutherville neighborhood as access points. Towson Hot Bagel co-owner Tony Scotto says the road closing has affected his Thursday lunch business. (Check out Tony's photos …

Goldbergs taste like what I think a bagel should taste like. It is chewy, correct amount of salt and hint of sweet. Towson taste more like a dinner roll to me. Towson is also over priced to me.   more ›

Now Open: THB Bagels and Deli of Timonium

Tony Scotto and company have opened their third Towson Hot Bagels café in the Yorkridge Shopping Center.

I was secretly hoping that Tony Scotto would change the name of his popular café from Towson Hot Bagels to Timonium Hot Bagels, after finalizing a move to the area earlier this week.  Read more about THB's new shop here.  Scotto opened his third bagel shop over the weekend, with a grand opening celebration Monday.  On Tuesday, Patch had lunch at the THB Bagels and Deli of Timonium. I hadn't dined at a THB since college, and frankly, didn't miss having to pay for parking in Towson.  The bagels were good, but not worth the potential $75 ticket I was risking for not paying the meter.  I tried the Al Pacino sub Tuesday with a side of macaroni salad. I believe this best sums up my feelings about it.  The shop is larger with considerably more …

Ah yes faux bagels for sure but much better than Einstein's and the Bagel Shop in Towson and HV. I like Wegman's for my freezer as they taste great when reheated. I like Goldberg's fresh from the shop. If you want reviews of THB, check Yelp where I was the first to cover the new store in Lutherville.   more ›
