York Road Pipe Installation Delayed Again, Roundabout Planned for Ridgely Rd.

The most recent District 3 newsletter points to two traffic-related updates that will affect Timonium drivers.

First the good news: County contracting crews are taking a break from installing a new pipe under York Road for the winter, meaning traffic should flow more easily through the normally congested, major Lutherville-Timonium thruway.  Now the bad news: While the break is good for drivers in the interim, it means that crews once again missed a projected deadline to complete the project, which began back in April 2010. This could become problematic for the old pipe, which is prone to breaks in freezing temperatures.  Back in July, Patch reported that Burgermeister Bell—the County’s contractor for this project—had lost 60 working days due to excessive rain. DPW: Beware of Public Works Imposters

Timely advice given the recent deception burglaries in and around Lutherville and the regular presence of actual DPW employees along York Road.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works is warning area residents of the potential for imposters posing a public works employees.  From director Director, Alfred H. Foxx:  "Department of Public Works employees are not authorized to enter your home without your permission. Our employees wear uniforms and have photo ID.  Always ask to see a Baltimore City employee identification card which includes a photograph. Report any and all suspicious activity to the Police by calling 911."
