UPDATE: Details Emerge in 3-Car Accident With School Bus
One man was seriously injured and rushed to Sinai Hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
No charges have been filed in connection with Tuesday morning's crash at in the intersection of York and Ridgely Roads, though police believe a Pikesville man may be responsible for the wreck involving three cars and a school bus.
Two men were transported to area hospitals as a result of the crash. No students aboard the bus were harmed, police said.
Baltimore County police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher said a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe collided with a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of York and Ridgely roads.
The newer model Santa Fe was driven by a 55-year-old Pikesville man. The driver was heading southbound on York Road before police say his SUV crashed into another Santa Fe, driven by a 71-year-old Timonium resident. The older model SUV was stopped at a red light the lane for northbound traffic on York Road, Rogers-Feher said.
The force from the collision knocked the Timonium man's car into a Parkville resident's 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, according to Baltimore County police crash team investigators. The Malibu then hit a Baltimore County Public Schools school bus, which was transporting a group of students to Timonium Elementary School. The Parkville woman was not injured.
No students were hurt in the crash. All of the children were transferred to another bus and taken to school.
The Pikesville man and the Timonium man were transported to Sinai Hospital and the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, respectively. The Pikesville man's injuries were classified as serious but not life-threatening.
The accident remains under investigation. No citations had been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.

So, why were no charges filed? It sounds pretty obvious to me that the whole thing was caused by the Southbound SUV crossing the center line and hitting the stopped SUV. This makes no sense.

Because the investigation is ongoing. No citations have been issued because contributing factors have not yet been determined. This is typical of all traffic accidents.
