Lutherville-Timonium Crime: Non-English Speaker Foils Robbery
The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.
York Road, 1800 block, 10:51 a.m. on April 1. A burglary attempt was foiled over the weekend by a employee partly because she doesn’t understand English, according to an incident report. A man walked into the sandwich shop and presented the clerk with a note demanding money. The report indicates that the suspect implied he had a gun.
The clerk “did not understand English” and walked away to the rear of the store to speak with a coworker about the man’s inquiry. The suspect then fled out the front door.
The suspect was described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old, weighing about 210 pounds, with a brown goatee, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with white lettering, blue jeans, a black ball cap. No further information was given to police.
Howard Drive, unit block, between March 24 and 8:21 p.m. on March 31. A Yamaha Outboard motor was stolen from a man’s boat. No further information is known at this time.
Chatterleigh Circle, 1100 block, at 1:30 a.m. on March 26. A burglar broke a window and stole a laptop placed on a nearby table. No further information in known at this time.
