New Details Emerge Linking 2009 Homicide Case to Lutherville-Timonium

The body of Gerardo Elias Botello was found in Montgomery County, but police say the murder took place along York Road.

Baltimore County police have charged a Baltimore City man for the February 2009 killing of a 40-year-old man whose shooting death was originally believed to have occurred in Montgomery County.

Gerardo Elias Botello’s body was found two years ago by Maryland State Police troopers along Interstate 270 in Montgomery County and his death was ruled a homicide. Through further investigation, police recently discovered that Botello was actually murdered in the 2000 block of York Road in Lutherville-Timonium.

Police arrested Jeffery Alexander Gregory, 44, of the 400 block of Madison Street in Baltimore City, and charged him last month with first-degree murder. Gregory is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail. He faces the maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment.
