Police Seeking Information Regarding Lutherville Light Rail Shooting

A 35-year-old man was shot while waiting on the platform at the end of West Ridgely Road Friday.

Baltimore County police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the person responsible for a shooting at the Lutherville light rail stop last week.

The victim, Harold J. Blandon, Jr., 35, was shot in the face while standing on the light rail platform in the 100 block of West Ridgely Road, at 4:15 p.m., Jan. 25. He is still receiving medical attention. His condition remains unknown.

Blandon was waiting for the train to take him home after work.

“Detectives want to speak to anyone who was on the platform at or near the time of the shooting," according to a release. "Detectives believe that—even if you did not witness the shooting itself—you may have seen or heard something that may help them with this investigation."

Police are currently attempting to determine whether or not Bladon was targeted during the attack.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Baltimore County police as soon as possible at (410) 307-2020.

They might start by checking if maybe it was revenge by one of Mr. Blandon's past victims of attempted murder, assault, or armed robbery. Might be a clue there!

I bet he knows who shot him and why. Then someone will go after whoever shot Mr. Blandon and then there will be two people shot with guns. The insanity of it all.

Trash killing trash. No humans involved.

Moe, you and Needaname hit the nail right on the head. Mr. Blandon knows exactly who did this and my guess is that he is telling the police, "I never saw these guys before in my life. I have no idea who they were or why they shot me." He is, in all probability, planning his revenge from his hospital room (which, incidentally, you and I are, in all liklihood, paying for). In a few days or weeks, there will be a murder (possibly 2 or 3 more murders if we are lucky) in Baltimore City as Mr. Blandon's compatriots avenge his attack. Of course, as Mr. Blandon's brothers in arms complete their deadly duties, none of the residents in Baltimore will tell the Baltimore Keystone Kops anything, but they will tell their friends who was involved and the cycle will repeat itself. The only thing I hope is that these toilet floaters will carry out their battles inside of the confines of Baltimore City where the so-called court system will continue their policy of catch-and-release of dangerous felons so that the scum will do the job that the "public officials" both in Baltimore CIty and in Annapolis are unable or unwilling to do which is to impose the death penalty on deserving scum such as those involved in this incident both as the "victim" and his "assailants". Fortuneately for us all, if the morons in the Maryland General Assembly choose to overturn the application of the death penalty, it will have no effect on the street version of the same sentence.

'so...you are blaming the guns instead of the career criminals??

Harry you forgot to add in the cost of 24 hr. police protection in front of the terd's hospital room. Release the terd before too much of my money is spent on him. He will more than likely be trailed by his ex-buddies within the next week or two. I would imagine they will return to complete what they had set out to do the first time.

Rats. If only we had some more gun control laws Mr. B would be safe & this couldn't have happened.

What really surprises me is that we have not yet heard from any of Mr. Blandon's friends and relatives telling us what a "wonderful person" he is and how he was "just turning his life around after a few minor scrapes with the police". C'mon, people. Where are you? We want to hear all about the good side of Mr. Blandon (if he has one.)

Thank God - and give yourself a lot of credit too. It is not always easy.

It's sickening our tax dollars are funding his medical care, police investigation, etc. I'm glad no innocent bystander got shot. If all we do is give prisoners a slap on the wrist, what's there to deter people from seeking free housing and medical care via prison systems? Why not cut funds on prisoner "benefits" and use that money to help law abiding citizens are inundated with medical bills (especially those who worked for many years)?

Just what we needed - a comedian dropping in..... :-)

Somewhere I read 95 percent of the shooting victims do not have health insurance. I just received my latest bill from Hopkins - and the fees for one of my 4X yearly follow-up exam has tripled in price in just 2 years. Yippee !

Don't worry about your medical bills. Obamacare will take care of everything. You think they are high now, wait until Obamacare really kicks into action.
Needaname February 02, 2013 at 11:33 AM
HC - it is alarming - if I could somehow download my bills so Patch people can see the progression. I sent a complaint to Medicare because the provider tried to charge me for blood work and a couple of other items back in August, but the December bill was shocking.
