While statewide assessment scores may have revealed a , Lutherville-Timonium students showed mostly gains from 2011—exceeding state and countywide averages.

At the elementary school level, nearly every school exceeded both the state averages for reading and math (88.2 percent and 87.7 percent of students showing proficiency, respectively) and the county averages (90.7 percent and 90.8 percent, respectively).
