Local Pro Golfer to be Profiled by CBS Sports

Lutherville resident David Hutsell will be featured in PGA Golf special Sunday.

Lutherville resident David Hutsell will be one of five pro golfers profiled on the CBS Sports special “The Road to the PGA Championship,” according to a PGA.com release

The program will air 2 p.m. Sunday.

came in mid-July at the 90th Maryland Open in Bel Air where he shot a third-round course record 65 on his way to victory.

“The program, featuring behind-the-scenes stories of some of the competitors in the Season's Final Major, will be seen in four separate rebroadcasts, beginning Aug. 3, on Golf Channel,” according to the release.

Hutsell, 40, and a graduate of Havre de Grace High School, is the current director of instruction at the Elkridge Club in Baltimore. He won his first PGA Professional National Championship on June 29 after a three-way playoff at the Hershey Country Club, the release states.

The Harford County native will be joined in the broadcast by other players:

  • Sean Dougherty, 32, of Overland Park, KS.
  • Scott Erdmann, 34, of Tigard, OR.
  • Marty Jertson, 30, of Phoenix, AZ
  • Craig Stevens, 50, of Sandy Springs, GA.
